Data Den: Introduction to Git (Hybrid)

Have you ever made changes to a solo or collaborative programming project, walked away, and then come back unsure of what happened? Git is a popular, open-source version control system that is commonly used through the command line and helps you track and manage changes. Join this introductory workshop to learn basic Git commands and get started using version control.

By the end of the workshop, participants will be able to:

  • Explain what version control is and why Git is useful for solo and collaborative work

  • Initialize or clone a Git repository

  • Follow a basic Git workflow (e.g., moving from a working directory to the staging area and then to commits)
