Data Den: Establishing a Researcher Profile (hybrid)

Sharing all aspects of your research data is important for open and reproducible science. This session will teach you how to strengthen your digital presence, visibility, and scholarly impact in today’s academic landscape. This hands-on workshop will introduce essential tools, best practices, and responsible publishing strategies to share your research outputs confidently. 

 

By the end of this lesson, workshop attendees will: 

  • Learn how to use persistent identifiers like ORCID (Open Researcher and Contributor ID) and DOI (Digital Object identifier) to increase research visibility and impact 

  • Understand different types of open access publishing (Gold, Green, Hybrid) and the benefits and challenges of each  

  • Learn how to identify reputable open access journals and avoid predatory publishers 

  • Explore different tools to enhance your online researcher profile like Google Scholar, ResearchGate, Academia.edu, LinkedIn, and Altmetrics 

 

This workshop is offered both in person and virtually. If you register to attend virtually, you will receive a Zoom link. If you register to attend in person, please join us in the Stone classroom, room 103, located in Mann Library.
