Data visualization is a powerful way to communicate your research. There are many data visualization tools available, but knowing how to design an effective chart or graph is just as important as knowing how to use these tools. In this workshop, we will review the fundamentals of information visualization and review design best practices with a focus on accessibility and reproducibility. 

Learning objectives: 

• Participants will learn different types of graphs/charts and the best use cases for them 

• Participants will learn the fundamentals of data visualization design, including the importance of position, ordering, shape, size, and color 

• Participants will be able to incorporate principles of accessibility, reproducibility, and data justice into their visualizations
