Citing Data: How to Cite Data for your Research Project

Whether you've found already existing data for your research project, or are doing original research, it is important to cite your data just like you would cite a book or journal article. We will review the Joint Principles of Data Citation as well as some common data citation standards and pitfalls. You'll also hear from Lars Vilhuber, Executive Director of the Labor Dynamics Institute at Cornell and Data Editor for the American Economic Association, who will discuss the importance of data citation for replication and publication.

This seminar series is open to Cornell students from all majors, but will be especially useful for social science majors. The recording and further resources will be available on Canvas in the course Managing Research Data: A Guide to Social Science ResearchThis series is presented by Mann Library and Catherwood Library.
