Podcasting Like a Pro

In this course, instructors Jimmy McKee and Matt Ryan lead participants through all the necessary steps to produce professional-sounding audio podcasts. Focusing on theory, social practices, implications, and audio technology, participants receive a complete knowledge of podcasting how-to’s in this four-session class.

  • Session 1: In this session, we will discuss the fundamentals of podcasting. How does one approach the challenges of starting their own podcast? What comprises a well-produced podcast? What type of gear is required to record a podcast?
  • Session 2: In this session, we will delve into the audio aspects of podcasting. We will discuss audio gear, recording strategies, and share a live recording attempt.
  • Session 3: Introduction to Audio Editing using Audacity.
  • Session 4: Introduction to Audio Editing using Adobe Audition.

The class culminates with tips and guidelines for uploading and hosting podcast episodes.
